Stephen Cohen

Stephen spent 30 years as a dairy farmer including 9 years as secretary of the local LandCare Group and 17 years on the Board of an agricultural co-operative. He now lives in Tatura and runs a retail business while continuing a long history of community involvement as Chair of GV Agcare and representing the Goulburn Valley on the Board of AgBiz Assist.

As a Certified Practicing Accountant Peter has worked with regional horticultural industries over many years, and has created strategic reports about their future direction. With a long-held interest in agricultural economics and education, he assists agricultural businesses on strategic and financial management as well as writes trade articles about the business of fruit growing.

Chris Thomas

Chris Thomas

Chris has extensive knowledge in Corporate Governance, Strategic Planning, Social Welfare/Community Development, Policy Development and Risk Management. He holds a Masters of Applied Science (Rural Regional Development); Diploma of Management Practices; Masters of Corporate Leadership.  Chris works through his own consulting business in the area of people development. He has a wealth of experience in the dairy industry, regional development and community organisations.

Wayne Donehue


Wayne accepted nomination as a Director on the GMH Agcare Board in November 2012. Over the past 15 years Wayne has been involved with the Landcare movement, in particular with the Ovens Landcare Network and the North East Catchment Management Authority. He has helped develop, support and organise many projects encouraging sustainability in the rural areas of North East Victoria. As well as being heavily involved with community groups Wayne also runs a small rural business involved in sustainable water use. He currently lives on a small beef cattle property in the Upper Ovens area.

Deborah Corbett

With 35 years experience in the public sector Deborah has a wealth of experience working closely with rural communities, small business, community service organisations and statutory authorities to develop effective public policy and raise awareness about the financial challenges faced by rural communities and industries in North East Victoria. Deborah is also an active member of the Indigo Valley Community and is the ATO representative at the Northside Chamber of Commerce. She was the first female committee member of Wodonga & District Turf Club, as well as holding a number of volunteer and committee positions in various community forums and North East equestrian clubs. Deborah has qualifications in accounting, tax, economics and law and feels that her broad experience in policy and governance will be an asset to AgBiz Assist.

Peter Huzzey

With a background in family farming, Peter’s career was in corporate farming where he held management roles in an agribusiness group. Peter brings a wide range of experience to the Board in the agribusiness sector as well as other disciplines including; agriculture, engineering, construction, development, marketing and information technology. He holds a Bachelor of Business Degree with a major in Marketing and is the Managing Director of a locally based website development and digital marketing business.

Chris Howe

Chris Howe

A Chartered Accountant and partner in Belmores Accounting Yarrawonga, Chris provides a range of accounting and business advisory services to farming and regional businesses in North East Victoria and South West NSW. He was the inaugural treasurer of North East Agcare Rural Financial Counseling Service. Chris has a broad acre farming background and is involved in many community organisations.

Dr Tim Clune


Tim is passionate about sustainable agribusiness and regional communities. He has spent the last two decades working in consulting, research and management roles in the private and public sector and is currently Lecturer in Agribusiness in the School of Business at La Trobe University. Tim is primarily focussed on understanding the challenges to sustainable agribusinesses and working in partnership with others to identify and develop strategies to build a more resilient agribusiness sector. Prior to this role Tim was Manager, Risk and Business Sustainability with North East Region Water Corporation (NEW) where he was focused on developing behaviours, strategies and systems to improve water service delivery and manage business risk. Previously he was Centre Manager at the Department of Primary Industries in Rutherglen working in both research and science management roles. Tim has an Honours degree in Agricultural Science and a PhD in Agriculture. He has a Masters of Environmental Laws and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
